In 1995, she had a public argument with Sônia Braga because of the movie Tieta do Agreste (1996). Faria starred in the title role in the TV-series Tieta (1989) in 1990, and would like to play it again in the cinema, but the rights for the screenplay of the book of Jorge Amado had been bought by Sônia Braga, who starred as “Tieta” on the big screen.
