Like father, not like son.

Mike Tyson spent years being the most polarizing figure in boxing. Amir Tyson, Mike’s eldest son, has expressed interest in fighting Logan Paul and following in his father’s footsteps. Nevertheless, Mike said he doesn’t want his son entering the ring and would rather him get a real job.

“The oldest one, he’s 24, he wants to do this so bad … he wants to fight Logan Paul and those guys,” Tyson said on the “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast. “He wants to do that, but I said, ‘Just get a job. Get your real estate license. Just chill out, man. Why can’t you take advantage of your lightweight wealthiness? Just chill. You don’t want none of that heat, man, I’m telling you.’

“This drives people to commit suicide, getting humiliated in front of millions of people. You gotta be able to take that pressure and heat. Not many people can do it, man. It seems like a lot of people, but the people doing it is such a small percentage. It’s probably 1 percent if that.”

Amir’s interest in fighting Paul stems from the remarks he made about fighting his father. Paul has been looking for his next fight after unofficially drawing with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. When Tyson came up as a potential matchup, Paul scoffed at the

“Someone mentioned Mike Tyson. My lawyer mentioned it and he’s like, ‘Nah, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance.’ I’m like, ‘I just went through all this.’ You can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. He’s old, old,’ Paul said on the “Impaulsive” podcast.

Amir might not fight anytime soon, but we will see “Iron Mike” back in the ring again. He may have denied any rumors of fighting Paul, but he did fight Roy Jones Jr. back in November in an exhibition fight, which led to an unofficial draw. His next challenger will be Lennox Lewis with the fight scheduled for September this year.
